Working from our Vermont studio, we design, manufacture, and craft our products using primarily Vermont wood products in all our fiber art tools.
The tools we create are tools that spend a great deal of time being held. As artists, we recognize the importance of both beauty and function in the tools and materials used in the creation of one’s work, whether that work be a warm pair of hand knit socks, an elegant crocheted shawl, an intricately woven tapestry, or whimsical felted creatures.
It is our hope that those who encounter our work find as much joy in the use of our tools as we have found in the creation of them.

How long does it take to get a set of Darn Pretty™ Wood Interchangeables? On average right now, we are running at 12+ weeks. Customers have asked that we offer more insight into the process and the time it takes to prepare each set. We receive sheets of the laminated woods which we then cut on angles and re-laminate, taking care to custom dye our adhesives the same colors as the cut line. These blocks are then cut into strips and from there, turned into dowels. The dowels are cut and turned to length. Each needle is then tipped by hand and threaded.
While these steps are occurring, the connectors are polished to remove any burrs from production. Stainless steel screws are inserted and checked for proper length. The needle is buffed and polished by hand to a silken smooth finish. Once each set is assembled, each needle in the set is attached to a connector to make sure the join is perfect. Cables are cut, connectors attached, and the entire set is wrapped in tissue and delivered to the post office!
