Just in time for the holidays! Heavy Metal™ needles are back in stock in all three lengths! These superb needles are crafted from solid stainless steel and feature our trademark seamless taper with the convex curve!
It's Giving Tuesday, and we have listed some beautiful sets - solids and mixes - in all three lengths. With each set purchased, we will donate $35 to the Chester-Andover Family Center. This all volunteer organization works year round to provide food, clothing, and monies for heat and rent to families in need in our community. Treat yourself or someone you love to a gorgeous set of needles and help a family in the process!
http://chester-andoverfamilycenter.org We are home from the Indie Knit and Spin show in Pittsburgh, PA. It was a wonderful trip, and an excellent opportunity to meet our customers, old and new. The highlight, however, was when Emily of Bricolage Studios stopped by to show Tom her tattoo of her Swan™ spindle. How cool is that? We spent the day today unpacking and listing all manner of new items - from spindles to Darn Pretty™ pairs and sets, to double points. That's right - double points!
Thank you to Jill and Nic of HipStrings for putting on a wonderful event! Autumn - one of our custom color ways (and my personal favorite). With Pink, Red, Purple, Turquoise, and Green, these needles evoke all the color of a New England autumn. We have them right now in all three lengths - 3.5, 4, and 5 inch!
Turquoise! We have waited a long time to get this color. We have gotten close in the past with some of the Robin's Egg Blues, but this - this is a deep, rich Turquoise, more to the blue side in natural light, while the green comes out in incandescent light. Hard to photograph - easy on the eyes.
These are gorgeous. The anodizing company did a fantastic job on these. The finish is superb. Linda hasn't made off with a set of Northern Lights™ in a long time. That changed the moment she saw these! With the purchase of eight pairs - mix and match sizes - receive a case (the Tula Pink Monkey Wrench case), three cables (17, 21, and 29 inch), and a set of four stops. Did we mention these are gorgeous? Made in the USA The latest batch of Northern Light™ needles is a great color - with voids (white areas, usually near the screw, that didn't take the dye.) The finish is silky smooth, the color is saturated, the price equals savings! We have both 3.5 inch and 5 inch lengths, and, in the 5 inch only, we also have US 6.5/4.25 mm and US 11/8.00 mm!!! Available in the Seconds section of our online shop.
We have what is nearly the last of the Purple DymondWood available in 3.5, 4 and 5 inch sets! The Bee cases are available too, listed in the Accessories section of our shop. We love the bees!
The anodizing company had issues with these. Apparently there were so many void areas that they stripped them down and redid them. The color is great! Or should we say colors? There are some shade variation, albeit minor, in the five inch and the 3.5 inch is a good shade darker.
The result of stripping and redoing the needles (which we have told them not to do), is many of the needles are smaller. For example, US 3 should measure 3.25 mm, with a 3.21 - 3.26 range. Many of these are 3.15. Ditto the other sizes, any where from .05 to .1 mm. Only those who knit really, really tightly will notice (although these might be the needle to go to when you can't get gauge), but we noticed. The 3.5 inch needles are more true to size, but they came in a good shade darker and in a matte finish. It just wasn't their day! But, as a result, if you like pink, it's your day to save $$$! |
