Spindles are back! This is our Swan™ spindle - it has both center and rim weight for a smooth, even spin. Swans generally start at 1 ounce and up, based on turning and wood. Shafts are turned from dyed, laminated US Birch, as in our hooks and knitting needles. Our shafts don’t warp! The spindle hooks are bent from strong copper wire that holds it shape. Whorls can be turned from laminates or hardwoods. Shaft lengths vary per spindle. Tom likes variety!
This spindle sports a Paduak whorl, a Cinnamon shaft. It measures 9.5 inches from shaft tip to hook tip, with a 7.5 inch shaft. Weight is 1.0 ounces/29 grams.
